I’ve been in a book slump till now.After This Night by Lauren Blakely is a beautiful novel for all fiction readers as it offers lots of unexpected twists, powerful characters, excellent story and fantastic entertainment of reading from the very first page till the last word. It reminds me of an an Indiana Jones plot. Some characters die.There is potential for a romance or two with this first book, but not much develops between all the running around or flying from one misadventure to another.
There is profanity, sexual references, and violence. This is a fun read to occupy the imagination and bring back childhood memories and maybe some college ones, too. I did order the next book because honestly, I feel like it has potential and I’m hoping the next is better. The author has a great imagination and can tell a story however someone please tell me what color Peter’s eyes are? Are they green or are they brown? The author uses both colors sometimes in the same paragraph didn’t anyone proofread this before it was published? Also, what the heck does Moira look like? We get no description of her looks whatsoever. The idea has been done and re-done but in my humble opinion never very well. I love the idea of a good telling of adult Wendy’s return to Neverland. Wonder who the real villain of this story is. I really love how her character waffles between belief and distrust.
